Jaime Lyn McKenna, owner & artistic director of RDC, co-founder of EMIAJ Movement Ltd. (2003), 1995 graduate of Dean College, Franklin, MA has had 28 years of extensive and eclectic dance studies which include technique at Martha Graham Dance Studio, Alwin Nicholia Studio, Erick Hawkins Studio, Broadway Dance Center (master classes), Frank Hatchett, Makumi Sakata, Sue Samuel and Bill Hastings, Denise Jefferson and Savion Glover.
Ms. McKenna began her dance training at the age of five at Vic D’amore Dance Studio and has won many competition accolades. Among her titles are Starpower Regional & National Champion soloist in Lyrical, and competitor in Ballet, Tap & Jazz; American Dance Spectrum Regional Dance Competition Champion in Ballet, Tap & Jazz, choreographer for the Brookhaven Theater Dance Guild “Dance Spectrum”; Dance Educators of America Regional Competition champion in Ballet, Tap & Jazz as well as the 2003 Outstanding Choreography Award at the New York Dance Festival.
Her performance and choreography experience includes The Big Red Boat, Disney, The Williamsburg Arts and Historical Center, as well as St. Mark’s Church in the Bowery, NYC, a performance benefitting Dancers Responding to Aids, a branch of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids.
Jaime continues to further her dance education by attending yearly conventions and teaching seminars.
In the Spring of 2009 Jaime was honored by the dance community when she was asked to co-produce a dance competition for Dancers Responding to Aids (http://www.dradance.org/events/risingstar.html). This was a big success yielding over 150 applicants, from multiple states, each of whom donated their entrance fees to a wonderful cause and performed their routines in front of their peers and a panel of judges.
